This blog is intended to be a space to share
my day to day. A journal of sorts, but
also a way to keep track of things and stay in touch with those who are far
away. Family, friends, you know who you
are. My day to day often (let’s be honest: always) includes knitting so I
expect there will be many knitting related posts. I also enjoy treasure hunting (read: spending
a lot of time at thrifts stores), drinking tea, collecting & listening to
records, cooking, making pies, and generally being enthralled by all things
homemade and handmade. I’ve also got a
big soft spot for anything Scottish after having lived there for a spell.
A few more things to touch on by way of introduction…
My lovely husband Kevin and I semi-recently moved from
Wisconsin to Washington, which explains the “stay in touch with those who are
far away” bit. We love living and
exploring in the great Northwest so there will no doubt be many
Washington-adventure related posts as well.
The blog’s name – Green Apple a Day – is a nod to my dear
father. Way back when he sang, played
guitar, and made memories in a band called Green Apple. In
2005 we lost him to cancer. I still love
him dearly and think about him daily so you can expect to see him pop up here
and there in my ramblings.
There will be many run on sentences, split infinitives, ellipses,
spelling mistakes, and comma splices.
Yes, I do love my comma splices.
Please: kindly ignore them generous readers.
Cheers,
Jamie
